Summary
Concerning the Spencer Memorial; informing him that "With the concurrence of Sir Joseph Hooker I am calling a meeting of the Comm'e for the Spencer Memorial" to be held at the Savile Club and inviting him to attend; adding "You will be pleased to know that the movement has developed excellently, and that our only trouble apparently will be with the subject of the portrait!;" adding, in a postscript, I was not very far from you last spring - having the Stobhall beat on the Tay - would that some people were as easy to catch as salmon there!"
