Discussing the local canvassing for votes and asking how Keppel's own canvassing is progressing; discussing the local election and the difficulties of organizing and funding a committee or an agent to carry out the necessary work of canvassing and campaigning; mentioning a notice in the Bury Post praising a speech he recently gave at "the farmer's table", saying tha he was "sorry to hear of Mr. Thomas Keppel's misadventure with Benjamin Francis", and noting that he found (Rev. Thomas) Paddon "in extreme ill-odour at Mattishall", being said to have "shaken people into voting for him."
