Title from item.
Postmarked envelope with seal, stamped with an unperforated penny red, and addressed: F.W. Keppel Esq / Lexham Hall / Litcham / Norfolk; with this address struck out and corrected to read: 19 Duke Street / St. James / London.
Forms part of a collection of 49 letters and poems addressed by William Bodham Donne to his friend, Frederick Walpole Keppel, of Lexham Hall, Litcham, Norfolk (see MA 14050.1-49).
Poem in eight stanzas, written and dated in the hand of the author, being satirical verses ostensibly addressed by the Earl of Ripon to a new clergyman, warning him to avoid members of the local Newton family; evidently inspired by Ripon's alleged intolerance of Methodists and teetotalers.
