Responding to a request for a translation of the song "Dulce Domum" into English, noting that he is not satisfied with any of the rhythmical translations he has seen, and suggesting that "the boys chant on just for the present, and if I cannot rhyme, I will furnish them with the verse in literal prose"; discussing the local elections, canvassing for votes, and his views on the candidates, Mr. Horace Twiss and Mr. E. (Edward Herbert) Bunbury.
