Summary
Stating that he did not go to Sessions as he was obliged to meet a lawyer in Norwich, and "two days together were more than I could spare for that nest of pugnacious Common Council men"; noting that he heard that there was "no row" during the meeting, contrary to his expectations, "when our Report of the doings and spendings at the Castle was read"; informing Keppel that he has been "desired to preside at the Mitford Association for reward Industry and straight furrows", and complaining that he is at a loss as to what he is to say on the occasion and facetiously suggesting that it might lend an original tone to the proceedings were he to present the awards in verse, followed by several examples of humorous presentations in rhyme.
