Summary
Saying that he had arrived at Highgate last night and "...the most interesting tidings, I heard, were of your return and of your great kindness in favoring me with so early a call"; writing that his health and responsibilities mean that he can only say he will visit Lincoln's Inn Fields the first day he is able to come to town, but inviting Green to visit him instead; adding "Our dinner-hour is four; but alterable without inconvenience to earlier or later"; promising "As soon as I have finished my present Slave-work, I shall write at large to Mr. [Ludwig] Tieck"; sending his regards to Green's wife, Anne Hammond Green.
