Summary
Apologizing for the delay in response and his proposal, but he "just loathe the signed edition kind of thing. Why not leave the edition small and let it go at that?"; acknowledging that he knows the book would not be possible without Elder's enthusiasm and hates giving this response; adding that Elder's wire came as he was leaving for a trip for Maine, so it would have been impractical to try to send the sheets, and that he will be moving around a lot over the next week or so.
