Thanking him for his letter from September 17th; saying that he thought the production "people" were going to send him samples of typefaces from the manuscript that has long lines, which they said they would do at the end of the conference, and requesting that they do this before setting it up; adding that there are some minor changes that he will send immediately; adding that if Sargent doesn't hear from Elizabeth, to let him know so he can contact her and to send him a carbon of his letter; discussing the jackets which he spoke about with Judy; agreeing that Sargent should read the Williams letter to the salesman; discussing famous Michigan poets; asking if he had time to forward the piece "The visitation" to George Davis and what his decision was; expressing how glad he is that Sargent is working with the manufacturing department "It was my understanding all along that the book was to get the best possible production. So keep 'em in line, old chum!"
