Summary
Saying that he hopes the Beaumonts had good weather for a trip into Warwickshire and asking where they went and what they saw; mentioning that he and his family are about to go on a round of visits to their neighbours; discussing the illness of the Duchess of Norfolk and what will happen to the Norfolk estate in Herefordshire when she dies: "Sir Edwin Stanhope, who it is said will have that part of the property, has a decided aversion to the place; & most likely will enquire how many cords of fire-wood the old Monarchs [i.e. the trees on the property] will produce, & at how much per cord; so that my future enjoyment of the sublime, the beautiful, & the picturesque, which in that walk we so much enjoyed together, depends on the life of a crazy old woman!"
