Regretting he cannot come to London nor can he accept an invitation from Mr. and Mrs. Coutts; relating news he heard of the robbery of Mr. Coutts' daughter, Lady Bute, as she was traveling from Nice to the Alps; discussing the gift to [Edmund] Kean of 500£ and commenting on Kean's conduct and the orders Kean has given for the money he received to be settled on his wife and children.
