Notebook kept by James Ivory while editing the film Maurice, written on the rectos and most versos of fifty leaves, and with loose sheets laid in throughout. Front flyleaf is stamped "MIP Maurice."
With a note in James Ivory's hand adhered to the upper cover: "Maurice."

The screenplay for Maurice was written by Kit Hesketh-Harvey and James Ivory based on the book of the same title by E.M.Forster. The film was directed by James Ivory and produced by Ismail Merchant for Merchant Ivory Productions; it was released in the United States on 18 September 1987.
