Howards End was directed by James Ivory and produced by Ismail Merchant for Merchant Ivory Productions; it premiered in New York on 27 February 1992.

Each of the thirty-one films he directed for Merchant Ivory Productions is represented in the collection, beginning with the production company's first film, The Householder (1963), and including, among others, The Europeans (1979), A Room with A View (1985), Howards End (1992), The Remains of the Day (1993), The Golden Bowl (2000), and The City of Your Final Destination (2010). The collection also includes two films directed by Ivory's partner, Ismail Merchant (In Custody (1994) and The Mystic Masseur (2002)). Summary
Shooting script of approximately 130 leaves (typed on the rectos and some with handwritten additions on the versos) heavily annotated by James Ivory throughout. Title page includes address for Merchant Ivory Productions in London, as well as James Ivory's mark of ownership and with the note "Second Draft C/2." Script is typed on white and pink leaves, some of which are dated August 1991. Script is laid (was probably once post-bound) in brown wrappers, upper cover stamped "Howards End" and with address for Studio Duplicating Service.
