Summary
Thanking him for his letter and apologizing for not having responded sooner. His daughter had a miscarriage as a result of a violent attack of E. Coli and was quite ill. She is improving. He thanks Rosenberg for all he is doing for him. He asks if it wouldn't be a good idea to purchase fire insurance for his paintings. Hessel would like Rosenberg to retrieve his paintings from the exhibition in San Francisco. He would also like him to sell the two Vuillards that were in Buenos Aires. He speaks about how difficult life is during the war and says that he is moving in two weeks to the Villa Sapho in Cannes.
