Summary
Replying to a request for biographical details and photographs of E. Gertrude Thomson; saying "I have written to Miss Thomson's sister about the exact date of her birth & death - I know she was born in July 1850 but I am not sure of the date - I am also asking her if she has a photograph of her sister - I believe the only one is that published in Lewis Carroll's Life, which was taken when she was quite young. I think she may have particulars about the dates of miniatures too. I am rather afraid that no sort of reminiscences have been left - Miss Nellie Thomson was to go through the papers & said she would let me know if she found anything. I will ask her & forward to you anything that she thinks might be of interest. I constantly urged her to make notes of many interesting facts that she told me about well known people, particularly of the Rossetti & Ford Madox Brown period, but the only sketch I know of is the one of Lewis Carroll that came out many years ago in the 'Gentleman.' I shall be at this address till June 9th & then return to town - If Miss Nellie Thomson prefers to write to me instead of to you direct, I will let you know as soon as I hear from her."
