Thanking him for his good wishes and presenting his own to him and his wife; informing him that the cigarettes he sent have arrived and that “the master” [Renoir] is smoking them; saying Emile Bernheim [a Belgian industrialist and patron of the arts] has come to visit Renoir, and [Ambroise] Vollard is coming that evening; complains about the weather and feels like going to Nice or Marseille to paint the street life there.
