Carroll write as "Mr. Dodgson". Charles Lutwidge Dodgson adopted the pseudonym "Lewis Carroll" in 1856 when publishing a poem in "The Train." He used the pseudonym when publishing Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and other works, but wrote under his given name, Charles Dodgson, when publishing mathematical works and in daily life. For administrative purposes, all manuscripts are collated under the name Lewis Carroll.

Summary
Asking for Miss Thomson's address; saying "Mr. Dodgson has bought, and has much admired, some Christmas cards, called 'Fairyland Cards,' designed by Miss E.G. Thomson, published by Mr. Ackermann - He would be obliged if Mr. Ackermann would furnish him with Miss Thomson's address;" including Ackermann's reply on the verso, written in the third person, saying "Mr. Ackermann respectfully thanks the Rev. C.l. Dodgson for his memorandum and has forwarded it to Miss Thomson that she may exercise her pleasure in responding to it." .
