Discussing a forfeiture of fee from his refusal to play a character from the "Quadrupeds of Quedlinburgh;" saying he "...positively made an objection to the performance of that Character in future which you then agreed to, and observed that I sho'd not be asked to do it for the time to come; now Sir, this may probably have escap'd your recollection, but could not mine, for from the first hour it was cast me, it was repugnant to my wish to act it but as the Theatre was then situated, I cheerfully acquiesced, and continued to perform it until I went to Liverpool, on joining the Company again, I solicited permission to relinquish it, but was requested to continue it until the conclusion of the Season.
