Summary
Replying to a request to sing and declining to perform the role of Menenius again; saying he has "...no Comic Song that I could sing on Thursday Night - The Songs that I have usually sung on my benefit nights (and then only) have always been local, consequently can produce no effect after that locality ceases; It is not only one Scene that I cannot recollect in Menenius, but the whole of the part - It is now twelve years since I performed it, and at my time of life I cannot be expected to have the same facility of recollection as when I was so much younger."
