Summary
Discussing the sending of a "new year's mite"; writing about the conclusion of a lawsuit between his nephew and Miss Fleming: "I understand from that Gentleman [Mr. Forman], the expense of the whole transaction between you and Miss Fleming is to be defrayed by you both equally; and it seemed right to him as well as myself that the charge of my Attorney, carriage of [panels? parcels?] &c should enter into his bill"; adding that he has asked Mr. Forman to pay those charges into Elliston's hands on his account, "and I mean it to be considered as a Christmas gift to my God Daughter"; urging him to a "continuance of your exertions to benefit your wife & children, accompanied by so much attention to œconomy that your acquisitions may not make themselves wings and fly away."
