Admiring the postcard of the village he received and the description of the house; apologizing for not writing sooner, but he was waiting to see if there was a chance he would be going to France this fall, which seems impossible; saying that he may go to the Near East and on the way back he could go to France, but he will let him know of his plans; adding that he is getting fed up with the academic life and will leave in the spring; suggesting that he look up Dave Buchanan of London.
