Acquired as part of a large collection of letters addressed to William Angus Knight, Chair of Moral Philosophy at the University of St. Andrews and Wordsworth scholar. Items in the collection have been individually accessioned and cataloged.
On mourning stationery with a monogram, an embossed crown and the address "36, Hyde Park Gate, S.W." Lady Coleridge has crossed out the address and replaced it with "Gibson Place." Based on its contents, this letter must have been written in Saint Andrews, where Knight lived; Gibson Place is a street in Saint Andrews.

Summary
Accepting an invitation to Knight's home the following day at 5 o'clock; saying that she will be going out on the links with her hostess, but she doesn't think that will prevent her from arriving on time; writing of how glad she was to discover that he is at home, since "I made enquiry as soon as I arrived & was told that you had gone away for two months & would not be back till October."
