Summary
Writing that Faber has sent him two copies of Sassoon's The Weald of Youth; telling him that he can listen to the BBC broadcast in which Swinnerton will review the book (along with six other books in a quarter of an hour) at 4:15 on the coming Thursday; saying of the book: "The views, the sunlight, it conjures up is beautiful. I think it may sell better than its predecessor and revive the sale, as every subsequent volume should do"; commenting on the portraits of Edmund Gosse and T.W.H. Crosland; mentioning that he used to see Crosland "as he walked with Alfred Douglas each day to the offices of something they were running together"; complimenting "the account of the meeting with R[upert] Brooke, full of sensitiveness"; calling it a "very good book indeed."
