Summary
Explaining his resignation; saying "I have been very ill but am now getting better. The Doctor however put such a long time of enforced idleness upon me (till Nov.) that I thought it better to resign. I hope to see you here (or at Woodside) some time or other when you can spare the time. I am going up next month to Harris for some fishing & return here in time for the 12th. We shall be back again at Woodside the end of Sep'tr."
