Summary
Thanking him for his letter and telling him he will "...look over the paper when I get the archives of the office over hauled. I was always strongly in favour of a representative of the Commercial interests in Glasgow (such as the Lord Provost) being on the Court but the case is quite different in St. Andrews. However we shall discuss the point when we meet."
