Summary
Writing that he was "[r]evelling in 'Siegfried's Journey' most of yesterday"; saying that he was greatly flattered by Sassoon comparing him to Henry Crabb Robinson, "the friend of so many great ones, from Goethe to Blake -- He died in 1867, in which year I was born. I should like to think that I took over the torch from him."
