Saying that he would be delighted if Knight stopped at Blairs College on his way to Braemar; giving him detailed instructions on trains he could take to Aberdeen and from Aberdeen to Braemar; recommending the Palace Station Hotel as "the most comfortable and convenient -- & my friend Miss McKilliam the Manager, most attentive"; suggesting that Knight could walk from the train: "If Sunday is a fine day you will find the walk out -- on the South side of the Dee -- until you come to Cults bridge, a very pretty walk [...] We dine at 2 pm -- and I would meet you on the way"; discussing his upcoming travel plans.
