Acquired as part of a large collection of letters addressed to William Angus Knight, Chair of Moral Philosophy at the University of St. Andrews and Wordsworth scholar. Items in the collection have been individually accessioned and cataloged.
Written on stationery engraved "109, Banbury Road, / Oxford."
The date of writing is not given, however, Carpenter refers to the possibility of Knight publishing an expanded edition of "Aspects of Theism". Knight would publish that in 1893. The stationery also appears to be the same as the paper Carpenter used during his years at Oxford which began in 1889.
