Summary
Concerning a Council meeting and his decision to stand as a candidate for an office for which Dr. Richardson (possibly Benjamin Ward Richardson) is also standing: "I do not stand against him, but allow myself to be nominated to fill what is virtually a vacancy"; writing that he is glad to find that his "qualifications for the Office should be so highly estimated"; asking Dr. Pettigrew (possibly J. Bell Pettigrew) to send a copy of an earlier letter and the second paragraph from this one to Richardson.
