Summary
Asking for a recommendation for a minister who might be willing to take over a congregation in Melbourne; outlining the requirements and the compensation; adding "I cannot find any one exactly suitable in this quarter, who w'd go. Perhaps you may be able to set me on the scent of a likely man. I thought of your friend of [illegible], but I fear he w'd not care for a position implying so much social publicity, even if he had the gifts required for it. Jack, to whom I spoke of the matter the other day, suggested the still more impossible notion of your being tempted by the fine climate of Victoria."
