Summary
Discussing, at length and in detail, the results of a School Board Election in which they "...got a dreadful licking;" saying he was sorry to hear from Nichol that he was not yet recovered from his accident; adding that he read his speech "...with great interest & sympathized much in its tone. I thought however that for policy you explained a little too much & gave them an opportunity of confusing the sense & opening up fresh points. But it is easy to criticize when one is quite out of the [illegible];" concluding that he is relieved to no longer have his Board duties as it would have "...hindered my work at my own subject to have had to think about such a serious matter as the schools for Glasgow."
