Summary
Saying he is happy to hear Knight is taking on an Assistant who "...has done credit to St. Andrews at Balliol;" saying he is sorry to see so little of him and sorry "...that you give so sad an account of your own circumstances & feelings;" informing him that he will continue from Greenock to Edinburgh where he will work on his Gifford Lectures "...which will occupy most of the vacation fully."
