Thanking him for a copy of Candler's book [Siri Ram, revolutionist], and expressing his praise and appreciation for it.; declining an invitation, citing his current involvement in his work, and closing with a reference to the armistice, announced the day before, "Yesterday brought us a feeling of deep and almost mournful thankfulness. One looks back with awe at the greatness of the sacrifice. Whether the future will be worthy of it time alone will show."
