Summary
Relating news of friends; saying "We had Rawnsley over, like a summer storm, with 3 friends who fully occupied all the room provided for you. I am very sorry you were not of the company, & that you could not have remained for quiet talk on philosophy for a few days after the Rawnsley gale had blown over. I trust both your health & Mrs. Knight's may soon be better & I think both will probably revive if you can give yourself a little rest. Could you not throw everything aside for six weeks at least? If there are any proofs or such mechanical work to be done, I shall be glad to have you turn them over on me. I am rather good at watching proofs, as I have had considerable experience with my own & other people's work. Don't hesitate if you can make me of use that way. I do think it would be easy to explain all you mean in a short talk 'Empiricism & Idealism (or 'The Context of [Empiricism & Idealism] in relation to Literature & Life' is the shortest I can think of.
