Summary
Expressing his sympathy for his "mishap. It is a great disappointment not to have had some time of pleasant colloquy in the Duddon Valley. The fates seem against our meeting in the Lakes. I trust that your illness will soon pass off, though I can understand that Mrs. Knight is anxious to get you home in such circumstances;" relating news of a mutual friend; adding "I am Kanting away as usual - I hope the K. is the correct letter. I am rather wearied of commentating & w'd like to get to discuss subject. But I have pledged myself to [illegible] & complete this. I must go through with it."
