Summary
Writing to confirm that he will be visiting Pawling in the company of his "partner" (i.e. Ford Madox Ford) and requesting a loan to pay for school related expenses for two of his wife's sisters, for whom he has arranged admission to a convent school in Slough run by the Order of the Ladies of St. Bernard; explaining that they are to attend the school free of charge, and that he is therefore loath to miss such an opportunity to provide for the girls' education "over a few pounds."; concluding with the request to "destroy this letter in any case. I don't apologize -- haven't the heart for it really."
