Summary
Asking him not to send him any money at the present time, as he can wait until his work is judged worthy of remuneration; stating, however, he will accept money from the state, which would allow him to continue his work, and that he can wait one or two years if necessary, or Turgot could give the Academy some money and wait to pay Condorcet; asks for this letter to remain secret--or if he must speak about it to M. de Maurepas, he should tell him how grateful he [Condorcet] is.
