With a note in FBA's hand: "On Mme de Maisonneuve's presentation / [illegible word] the Circle chez the duchess of Gloucester." She has also dated the letter "June, 1819"; there is no other date of writing given.
Madame de Maisonneuve's brother was appointed Ambassador to the Court of Great Britain in the spring of 1819, and she accompanied him to England. FBA refers to this news in a letter that she wrote to Princess Mary on March 4, 1819; this letter appears in The Journals and Letters of Fanny Burney, Volume 11: Mayfair 1818-1824; letter 1196B, pages 69-74.
