Summary
Sending her, at the request of her brother, "...a piece of the planking from the French ship the Bienfaisant that was sunk by Admiral Byron in the Restigouche. Last summer was the first time any attempt had been made to reach this ship and find what she contained. The men who discovered it were stopped in their work although they carefully preserved what they found and it was only this summer that I could get a piece of the wood to send you. My brother thought you would like a piece for a souvenir."
