Summary
Asking for news of her niece Charlotte Barrett's travels in Europe; asking also whether "your own dear Fugitive" (her daughter Sarah Burney Payne) has returned from her trip to Holland and Belgium; writing that she refrains from writing to her sister Charlotte Ann Broome (Charlotte Barrett's mother), since her "fears are always redoubled if she believes them shared"; telling her that she has moved to Camden Town, the district where her son Alex was serving as curate, to deal with a nagging cold; mentioning that her sister Sarah Harriet Burney's health has worsened and she is under the care of Dr. John Paris; writing that she tried to visit her yesterday, but she was "under her Leeches, & could not even see me"; sending her regards to Martin; asking Sarah to name a day when she could come see her, as "a Chance call has always so many chances for being unpropitious: I may be on the route for Hygate -- for Hampstead, for Kentish Town -- or lost in the various labyrinths of the Regents park: or be off for another Park Street, to see the poor Invalid [Sarah Harriet Burney was staying at 29 Park Street]. I shall stay here some time, as -- on account of my dear Minister [i.e. Alex], I shall make no other summer excursion."
