Summary
Thanking her for her letter and the information on the Byron family tree and saying she is sorry to hear she has been ill; telling her she is sending her a first edition copy of her book in appreciation; asking "...which of those you mentioned was the great Uncle of Lord Byron, the poet, and how many degrees of relationship are between your husband and Hon. John Byron ("Foulweather Jack")? Are there seven?...I am interested to see in John Richard Green's 'History of the English People', that in 1764 Commodore Byron was in command of two ships 'sent on a cruise of discovery to the Straits of Magellan... I feel sure that this Commodore Byron was the hero of the Battle of the Restigouche. Through the kindness of friends I have had the privilege of seeing the 'British Weekly' for many years. Yours is a very interesting and varied column, and must often be exceedingly difficult. Your splendid article 'Why'? in the issue of July 4, 1935 is very true and comforting. Your column will of course mean much more to me after this."
