Summary:

Replying to her request for a position as a reviewer; saying "With a name like that you ought not to be in a position to ask for reviewing jobs. You ought to command publishers to publish your effusions, and by the same token, after your experience of newspaper offices you ought to know that 'our Mr. Pound' can't hand out books for reviewing because he presides over a watertight compartment and has a regular reviewer who sits in it. The worst I can do for you is this: I am just off to the Continent for three weeks. (I am under the impression that the Daily Express will suspend publication till my return.) When I come back I will see what can be done to give you a look in on an occasional book review, but I am quite sure we can't make a definite arrangement as you suggest. I am glad to know you are happy and I am quite sure the bloke you have married has done well for himself."
