Written on the memorandum stationary printed "Mr. Arthur Bourchier's / Personal Tour / with the Garrick Theatre Company / including / Miss Violet Vanbrugh."
Writing at the request of Mr. Bourchier and returning his play which he is rejecting; saying "Though it is very well done in many ways and has a capital situation, the whole milieu and circumstances being those which have been employed so frequently for plays, and especially one act ones, that it makes your play a little conventional, and not quite suitable to Mr. Bourchiers usual requirements in a one act play, which are as a rule novelty, quaintness of situation & [illegible] or great strength. Mr. Bourchier thanks you very much indeed for letting him read the play."
