Expressing his pleasure at learning that her poems will be published and saying that had he known she was about to publish he would not have suggested a collaboration (see MA 9176.16); relating his efforts at getting his work published; asking that she let him know when and where her work will appear; adding "Here I am living entirely out of the literary atmosphere, as it were, and with the exception of my wife's sympathies I am as lonely as one could wish to be. We are each 33, and have two children, living, having buried three. As I had never had the least idea of touching a pen until a few years ago, (in the days of the 'Olympic') I look upon myself as still a child in literature."
