Summary
Concerning the union of Dundee and St. Andrews; saying "My apprehension is that Dundee may try to work the union upon the principle commonly expressed in the words 'Heads, I win; and tails, you lose' - as applied to St. Andrews - that is a solution to which, from every point of view, I am opposed - If Dundee is not to be sacrificed to St. Andrews, let not St. Andrews be sacrificed to Dundee. I see in the newspapers a statement that Principal Peterson has closed his course of lectures upon Roman History, as there were only five persons who cared to attend."
