Summary
Writing that his son Pen (Robert Wiedemann Barrett Browning) is "fortunate [...] to be enjoying himself with with you while I endure the steaming unhealthy heat surrounded by everything that is ugly. Pray don't talk about 'Rome,' unless you wish to throw this place into even stronger shade than naturally belongs to it!"; discussing the publication of a book (probably Balaustion's Adventure) and the difficulty he has had in getting copies from the publisher to send to friends; adding that he looks forward to seeing Edith in London next week; sending a message to Pen: "Give Peni my love, -- he will excuse my not writing, or writing through your tongue if it will kindly charge itself with the no-news that I and Sarianna are very well."
