Acquired as part of a large collection of letters addressed to William Angus Knight, Chair of Moral Philosophy at the University of St. Andrews and Wordsworth scholar. Items in the collection have been individually accessioned and cataloged.
Written on stationery embossed with the seal of the House of Commons.
The letter is undated however the Scotch Universities Bill came before the House of Commons in July of 1889. The Report was prepared at the end of July.
