Acquired as part of a large collection of letters addressed to William Angus Knight, Chair of Moral Philosophy at the University of St. Andrews and Wordsworth scholar. Items in the collection have been individually accessioned and cataloged.
Written on stationery embossed with the seal of the House of Commons Library.
The letter is undated. Volume VIII of the Transactions of the Wordsworth Society was published in 1886. The Scotch University Bill went before the House of Commons in the summer of 1889.
