Summary
Regretting he cannot "...oblige your friends but unhappily we have no Ladies' Gallery orders to give;" adding that all he is able to do right now is offer to give them a tour of the premises; saying "The Universities Bill will not come on before the autumn session; and I have some doubts whether it will be put thro' even then. The pity is that so unsatisfactory a Commission should have been nominated that has made a good many people unwilling to see it pass - It is a great misfortune that more judgment was not shown for a Bill is really needed."
