Summary
Thanking him for his letter and expressing his pleasure that he liked "...what I said about Mr. Gladstone. It was but a small part of what we would like to have said about so extraordinary and inspiring a personality. You must have surely come back very tired from such a tour in the U.S. - a tiring country & the 'receptions' by far the most tiring things. I had rather climb Aconcagua than go through one of them. It will be very interesting to hear your impressions & experiences while they are still fresh."
