Summary
Expressing his interest in Knight's proposed biography of John Nichol "...and the publication of some of his correspondence...I have probably some letters from him of the years 1863-68 or thereabouts and a very few of more recent years - but whether (or when ) I can find them is more doubtful, for my collection of letters is in sad confusion - The rapid fall of friends around is sadly illustrated by the fact that yours is the third request within these three months that has reached me to write reminiscences of those who have left us. I will try, but may not be able to find time immediately for what is a very difficult task. I will also use my first leisure in looking for the letters;" suggesting that [A.V.] Dicey might contribute more than he could as "He knew J.N. very intimately."
